2023 Grand National Roadster Show Recap
Started in 1950, the Grand National Roadster Show is a long-time event held in Southern California. This event brings builds from all over the United States to show off. Every year they award the “AMBR” Award which is short for America’s Most Beautiful Roadster.
Celebrating its 73rd year, TMI was in attendance all weekend long. This show is popular because of its legacy, but we also think because of its location. Not too many other places where you can host a car show in January and not freeze to death! This show usually brings nice temps and plenty of sunshine to keep people happy.
Every year the show also has a special exhibit hall. This hall is where they highlight a particular year of car, or a model of a vehicle. This year was C10 trucks and the hall was packed full of the best classic trucks out there.
TMI also brought a C10 truck to display, Daniel Stewarts. If you’re unfamiliar, this wicked C10 was in our SEMA Show booth, won a TRIM Award, and went to compete at the Barrett-Jackson Cup! The other cool ride we had in our booth was Ken Johnson’s 1971 Nova that is a show-stopper everywhere it goes.
For us and like many others, this show starts the show season. We get to see what people finished off during the holidays and it gets our blood going and ready for the rest of the show season.
Besides the halls filled with different styles of builds, there are cars and vendors spread throughout the entire grounds. Between each building is lined with cars of every make and model and polished to perfection.
Simply put, no matter what style of classic car you like, it’s a good chance it was there on display at the Grand National Roadster Show. We can’t wait for next year! But for now, come see us at Good Guys Del Mar at the end of March! Check out the gallery below.
