Street Trucks Magazine Squarebody Build
Street Trucks Magazine Squarebody
When Street Trucks magazine was looking for some comfort and convenience in their Squarebody Chevy truck build, they reached out to TMI Products. When building this truck they planned to do the long-haul on the Power Tour.
This is 2000+ miles in the truck and while the factory seats would have worked, they just aren’t that comfortable. The factory bench seat is flat and offers no support when going around corners. They added a complete QA1 suspension to the truck, so they will definitely be going around corners faster than a stock truck. There’s also no armrest in the middle for those long days behind the wheel - and let’s not forget about cup holders!
With the modern suspension they also added Wilwood disc brakes and 20” wheels. Under the hood is a modern LS engine too. Everything else on the truck had been upgraded to modern standards and the interior was the last box to check off.
They gave us a call and told us what they were needing. They needed something modern to be up to modern standards, but at the same time pay homage to the truck. We knew exactly what they needed and went to town stitching up one of the hottest interiors for the Power Tour.
To start we sent them a complete interior in a box. Our interior shows up and is ready to be installed, no stitching required. Right out of the box is our Pro-Series Universal Sport Deluxe 60” wide seat. This seat looks like a bench seat but works like a set of bucket seats. There’s a fold down armrest that offers cup holders, or you can flip it up for an additional passenger. However, under the middle is a flip up compartment that has great storage space.
Matching the seat is a set of our Molded Sport door panels that have built-in arm rests. We also sent a Sport Dash pad and molded headliner to finish off the package.
The best part is Street Trucks didn’t want a standard black interior; they opted for a Distressed Steel vinyl with blue plaid inserts and a contrasting white stitch. This gives the interior a completely custom look but it comes this way right out of the box.
